Tangra is a region in east Kolkata that traditionally housed a large number of tanneries owned by people of Hakka Chinese origin. These Chinese settlers of Kolkata are the creators and developers of we know as the Indian Chinese cuisine. Chinese food sold in Tangra restaurants are now known all over the world as ‘Hakka Style” Chinese food. They have adapted Chinese seasoning and cooking techniques to Indian tastes.
Tangra Kaizen caters to the cravings of this unique cuisine in the comforts of South Kolkata. This little cozy restaurant in a sleepy neighbourhood, oozes the old world charm of decades old Chinese eateries of the Eastern and Central parts of the city. Tangra Kaizen does not pretend to give you a fine dining experience. It is earthy, traditional, reasonable and yet one of a kind.
- Logo: The logo was designed keeping in mind that it would be neon-lit on the façade. We wanted the logo to be clutter-free and look like exactly what it serves; comforting Chinese food. The font used also has a hint of Oriental aesthetics.
